On Tuesday, the country singer invited her namesake to the stage at New York’s Madison Square Garden to help close out her yearlong “Speak Now” concert tour. She and Mr. Taylor, sporting his signature fedora, shared a sofa during the encore and sang his 1970 hit together, followed by one of her best-known songs, “Fifteen.”
At one point, the squealing audience compelled Mr. Taylor to pretend to cover his ears. Ms. Swift laughed and said, “I think they like you.”
Earlier in the concert, Ms. Swift also brought out her friend and fellow pop star Selena Gomez to sing Ms. Gomez’s hit “Who Says.” Ms. Swift said the appearance marked the first time the pair had ever sang on stage together.
The performance capped a tour that’s taken Ms. Swift to 17 countries and dozens of venues around the world, including the week’s two sold-out shows in New York. Tuesday’s show brimmed with Broadway-style set pieces, firework pyrotechnics and a team of dancers who dangled from bungee cords or pirouetted in tunics and tights in step with the set, which included hits like “Mine,” “Mean,” “You Belong to Me,” “Love Story,” and “Fearless.”
